The Finland Wild Rice House is Seeking Helpers/Paid Apprentices for the 2022 Season!

The wild rice season is here and the processing facility is hiring

The Finland Wild Rice House and The finland food chain are pairing up to offer Week-long paid helper/processing apprentice positions at the wild rice house throughout the month of september.

With this position, we are hoping to provide much needed extra hands for Blake (the Lead Processor) with running the parcher and other processing tasks through the busiest times, while at the SAME TIME, facilitating the transfer of knowledge of this endangered skill, and generating local interest/involvement in the possible futures of this project and its goal of maintaining this vital service in the community.

For these reasons, the preference is to find four or five helpers who can commit to one week each (give or take) from the Finland Area or the local arrowhead region of MN, however…all applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Pay will be $17/Hour

Job Duties will include (but not limited to):
  • Chopping Firewood/Stoking and Tending the Fire for the Parchers
  • Repeated Lifting/Moving of 40lb Loads
  • Running Industrial Small Grains Processing Machinery
