*As SOON as you have rice, call\/text 218-353-1312 with a rough estimate of your total amount so we can get you on the schedule.\u00a0<\/p>

*If possible, weigh your rice as soon as it comes off the lake. This will help us calculate an accurate yield for you.<\/p>

*We are not able to put you on the schedule until you have your rice.\u00a0<\/p>

*If you call and we miss it, leave a message or text.<\/p>

* We may ask you to hang onto your rice until we are able to process it, as we are very short on storage space.\u00a0<\/p>

*Please be patient with us as we continue to grow. We are a non-profit processing facility and do not sell rice; our operations are funded entirely through processing fees. As a result, we may not always be able to compete with the rates or operational capacity of larger facilities. That said, we take great pride in the quality of our work and are committed to maintaining a high standard of quality for every customer we serve.<\/strong><\/p>

*AFTER you have scheduled a drop time with us, bring your rice to 5168 Hefflefinger Road.\u00a0<\/strong>Follow signs and pull up past the shipping container in front of the brick building for pickup or drop off. (For all other traffic, please park along Hefflefinger road.)<\/p>

*How to store your rice in the meantime:<\/i> We do not have a protocol or opinion on HOW your store your rice between harvest and processing. Many people do have many opinions on this, but we have not had problems processing rice that has been stored one way over another. (With the exception that VERY dry rice seems prone to more breakage in the parcher.) If you are going to store your rice for a long time, it is essential keep out of reach of rodents and to dry it FULLY to avoid mold.<\/p>

Processing Fees<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

We have a 60 pound minimum for a Small batch, and 120 pound minimum for a Large batch. Due to variations in rice density and moisture content, we reserve the right to adjust minimum requirements and associated fees based on how a batch fits in either parcher.\u00a0 These minimums are in reference to the green<\/em> (un-processed) weight of the rice you bring in.\u00a0<\/p>

If you are not able to harvest 60 pounds, you can request for us to combine your batch with another willing customer to meet the minimum (“mixed batch”)<\/p>

Small Batch <\/strong>(60-120#) – $2.75\/pound
Large Batch<\/strong> (120# or more) – $2.50\/pound
DIY Parched<\/strong> – $1.25\/pound
Mixed Batch<\/strong> – $3.50\/pound
(These fees are applied to the finished<\/em> weight of your rice after processing.)<\/p>

We take Cash, check, or credit\/debit card. (NOTE: there will be a 2.6% fee applied to card transactions.)<\/strong><\/p>

Please note that all rice must be thoroughly picked clean of leaves, stems and heads before bringing it in. This is an ESSENTIAL step, as the extra plant material will clog our dehuller.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

NOTE: We regret that we have had to raise our rates, and acknowledge that we may be more expensive than some other shops. Please know that we are not like other processors, however, as we are a non-profit shop who does not sell rice and caters to small-batch subsistence ricers. Our aim is to provide this service at the most affordable rate that will allow us to break even and keep processing.
